As a food photographer in the wine country, often asked about my patience. While photographing food is a challenge, photographing food in my Napa Valley studio or on location in Sonoma is always more fun than work. Providing interesting colors and textures, contrasting shapes, then painting the set with light - I'm always a happiest in the studio. Working digitally now,  it's both a challenge and easy to work on composition. In real time, I can check the entire photograph for the best light, composition and layout. Some say that food is the most difficult thing to photograph, but  with beautiful natural colors, reflections, props, transparency and translucency I find it absolutely fun.
