Manuel J. Rosales builds organs.
But not everyday organs. I caught up with him in his Los Angeles workshop while he was tuning and adjusting pipes. The organ the pipes belong to is the little one in the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, a monster of an instrument and a monster of a project. At the time these photos were taken he was already several years into the project and anticipated another one at minimum. While some of the work was performed in his workshop, much of it was installed and tuned in place, usually in the wee hours when the hall was not in use for rehearsals or performances. Trust me, it's an amazing piece of work, be sure to google it or perhaps even visit it.
